What's your favorite book (Tolkien or non-Tolkien)?

LotR is my favorite, after the Silmarillion. I also love Micheal Crichton's books (Jurassic Park, Timeline, etc.) ... Fantasy and Sci-Fi are my favorite genre because I find the real world boring (lol) :D

Oh, I'd have to say I love Lord of the Rings the best, of course. I also love the Protector of the Small series. Basically any type of Fantasy book. I'm also starting to fall in love with Ann Rinaldi's historical fiction books. In not really picky with my books. . . sometimes. . . ::)

I'm not much of a reader.... I like the LotR movies and want to read the books... I just never get around to it.

Sorry to break the LoTR fav book thing.. but I'd have to say the HP books. They are easy reading, yet somehow keep me very interested in them.

Lol! I'm with you GaG and Fea. I understand why the books are getting darker but I still like the older ones better. The third one was my favorite. I myself describe Harry as a depressed brat but I understand how he's growing up.

One of my other favorite books is "Ella Enchanted" I haven't seen the movie version yet, but I heard that it is nothing like the book.

SoUE and Ella Enchanted are both really good. (I've read all the SoUE books, even Grim Grotto!) I just hope that the movie is good... if it's bad, that will stink... :(

I love LotR (of course) i also like HP.
I really didn't like harry's character in the fourth book either. Goblet of Fire is my fav.
what did u think about the third movie? i didn't like it as much as the first 2.
i saw and read Ella Enchanted and hated the movie, but the book is one of my favorites.
i think the SoUE movies will be worse than the books (which i loved)

It's got to be the LOTR books as first choice, and I'm just starting to read 'The Book of Lost Tales' which is pretty interesting.
Other favourites are the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy, and the HP books. (i'm with E-R that the Goblet of Fire is the best).
I wasn't too keen on the HP movies though. Some of the acting really wasn't that great.

Well, I saw the SoUE movie, and I thought it was great, even though they messed up the storyline. The acting was awesome, and Sunny was adorable!! :D I now own the DVD! Yay! :D If you havn't read the books, though, the movie probably wouldn't make much sense. I still really like it. :D
